IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adil Elias
Antone
January 28, 1941 – April 19, 2014
Adil Elias Antone of West Bloomfield, MI, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed into eternal peace on April 19, 2014. He bravely battled multiple sclerosis for 45 years before finally succumbing to cancer on Holy Saturday, quietly and surrounded by family.
The youngest of seven siblings, Adil was born in Baghdad, Iraq on January 28, 1941 to Elias and Haniya Antone. He graduated from Baghdad College in 1959 and emigrated to the United States in 1960, living briefly in Southern California before settling in Michigan, where he and his brothers owned and operated several local businesses. In 1965 he married Ann (Fadia) Najar, who shared unconditional love, faithful support, and constant comfort throughout their 49 years together. They raised four sons and took a great part in the lives of their many nieces and nephews.
Adil loved and valued his family and his Chaldean Catholic faith above all else. He worked tirelessly to provide a good life and future for his family. He was always supportive, taking immense pride in all of their accomplishments, large and small. One of his greatest joys was welcoming visitors into his home and spending time among friends and family. Often quiet and thoughtful, Adil listened intently and with genuine interest, and spoke with sincerity and honesty. His quick wit always brought laughter through an impromptu joke or quip, and his own smiles and laughter were contagious. Those who knew him cherished his kindness, generosity, and gentle nature. He will remain a role model and the epitome of fortitude, spiritual strength, and resilience to all whose lives he touched.
Adil is survived by his devoted wife Ann and his sons Christopher Antone, John Antone (Andrea), Matthew Antone (Alysia), and Timothy Antone.
