IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Chastain
Dokho
October 7, 1946 – November 9, 2024
Dear family and friends, we regret to inform you of the loss of the
beloved
Betty Chastain Dokho
.
Loving Daughter of the late Boyce Chastain and the late Viola Bowles.
Devoted Wife of Falah F. Dokho.
Cherished Mother of the late Steven Dokho and Keith (Jacqueline) Dokho.
Faithful Grandmother of Nolan and Cecilia Dokho.
Honored Sister of the late Thomas Chastain and the late Donna Chastain Dokho.
Betty was an intelligent, kind, and loving woman who would always greet you with a radiant smile. Even if you didn't know Betty, she would most likely strike up a conversation, and you'd become friends within minutes.
Betty grew up on Belleterre Street in Detroit and spent her summers as a kid on the shores of Lake Huron in Port Hope, Michigan. Betty was extremely bright. She was a whiz at Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and was even offered a National Merit Scholarship. In addition to being a nurturing homemaker, Betty worked her early days at Michigan "Ma" Bell and later at JCPenney where she led the entire company in opening new charge accounts for customers.
As a devout wife of over 50 years, mother, and grandmother, Betty lived her life for her loved ones. She was a resilient woman who always brought out the best in people. Her loving spirit shined through and spilled over to those around her. It was truly inspiring to witness. Betty was beautiful inside and out.
We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
