Obituary

Donna Mae Dokho was born on June 22, 1945 to Viola and Boyce Chastain in Detroit, Michigan. She has a sister, Betty Dokho (Falah), and a brother Tom Chastain (who proceeded her in death).

Donna was married to Amir Dokho on November 22, 1969 until he passed away in 2018. Donna is survived by three children: Jennifer (Paul), Jeff (Rebecca) and Kim, and 12 beautiful grandchildren: Molly, Zach, Sophie, Jacob, Parker, Charlie, Mary Grace, Olivia, Clare, Gigi, Leo and Caleb.

Donna worked as a medical secretary at Children's Hospital of Michigan for many years. She also earned her degree in business later in life. Donna loved to be surrounded by family and friends, especially her grandchildren. For many years, she enjoyed taking trips to places all around Michigan. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting, watching classic movies, listening to old time radio shows, crafting and shopping. She most recently lived at American House in Troy, where she had many friends and loved the social activities and themed parties they have for the residents in the community.

A memorial prayer service for Donna with burial following will take place Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the outdoor pavilion of Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 25800 West Ten Mile Rd., Southfield, Michigan, 48033. A memorial gathering will also take place in the summer of 2022 (details to follow).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paint A Miracle, an art studio for people with disabilities that Donna supported.
