Lord, we know that those who believe in you,
have an everlasting life. So, we celebrate the life
of Dorothy Ann Lewis because she has
transitioned from this temporal life to a new life.
So, help us to hold Dorothy's memories as we
continue to live on in hope of the eternal
kingdom.

Dorothy Ann Lewis peacefully passed away in
her home on February 1, 2023. She was born
December 17, 1940, in Altheimer, Arkansas to
Lee Flora and Dorothy Lee Mickens. A while after
Lee Flora moved to Detroit, MI pursuing a better
life and opportunities as part of the great
migration. Dorothy Ann stayed behind with her
grandfather and grandmother Willie and Sallie
Mickens, then later joined Lee in Detroit where
she graduated from Chadsey high school.

She married Major Evans, who also preceded her
in death. In that union there were two children,
Kenneth and Marcus. In her journey she battled
cancer until remission which created her interest
in the healthcare field. She worked in the
healthcare field until she retired.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading the Bible
and doing crafts such as knitting and often made
blankets, hats, etc for family and friends.
She leaves behind her sons Kenneth (Yvette)
Mickens and Marcus Evans, her grandchildren
Kenyatta Mickens, Kenneth Mickens, II,
Dominique Mickens, Marcus Evans Jr, Tezonia
Morgan and Jamilia Gupton, and great
grandchildren Nolan Evans, Brielle Evans and
Monyae Gupton.
Acknowledgements:
The family gratefully acknowledges and deeply
appreciates the many thoughtful deeds and kind
expressions of love and concern that were
expressed to them during the loss of their loved
one. These things have been a great source of
comfort and peace.
