IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn Daoud
Yousif
February 5, 1929 – February 18, 2023
Dear family and friends, we regret to inform you of the loss of the beloved Evelyn D. Yousif. Evelyn was
a caring wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who passed away peacefully into
the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 18th, 2023.
She was one of 9 children born to Daoud and Najma Nakkash on February 5th, 1929 in Mosul
(Ninevah), Iraq. She married her late husband, Fadhil Zia Yousif, in 1959 and had four children:
Taghreed (Waleed), Alhan (Awni), Atheed (Vivian), and Arkan (May). Evelyn was a loving grandmother
to Joseph, Andrew, Danny, Dalia, Jasmine, Nora, Jonah, Jenna, Emmanuel, Julia, and Mark. She
graduated with a degree in education in 1952 and worked as a school teacher in Iraq for a few years
before immigrating to the United States with her family in 1981. Evelyn had the most beautiful blue
eyes and a heart of gold to match it. She will always be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord as
well as her daily commitment to reading the Bible and active prayer for her family. Evelyn had a strong
and beautiful voice, always finding an opportunity to sing hymns with her children and grandchildren.
Church was important to her and she was heavily involved at the Kirk in the Hills with the Senior
Women and in multiple Arabic churches in the area. Most importantly, she loved being around her
family.
