IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fouad
Babbie
January 3, 1938 – February 26, 2022
We regret to inform you of the loss of the beloved Fouad Babbie.
Fouad Babbie, age 84, of Southfield, MI, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2022. Born in January 1938 to the late Zia Babbie and Habouba Esshaki Babbie in Bagdad, Iraq, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1955.
From a young age, Fouad was compelled to learn as much as he could. He studied Chemistry at Highland Park Community College following his arrival in the United States. He continued to study throughout his life and had a particular fondness for history and the works of Khalil Gibran. Reading, learning, and being with his family brought him joy and sustained him throughout his life. He was a truly special person, and his love was both bountiful and unconditional.
In 1962, Fouad joined U.S. Army, and then served in the Army National Guard of Michigan for over 5 years. He was a business owner and butcher for many decades and later becoming a translator in Iraq for the United States Government before retiring
Fouad was the beloved husband of Amira, his lovely wife, for 53 years, and the loving father of Jeffrey (Beth), Richard, and Sean (Jen). He loved and doted over his grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, and Nicholas, and was the dear brother of Wadi (Carole), Latif (Marcelle), and Nazhat (late Yousif), and was preceded in death by Ghorgis, Manuel, Bedour, and Bahidja. Fouad is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He is also greatly missed by his dog, Scout, who served as his ever-present sidekick for the last six years.

Thank You and May God Bless You
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
for thine is the Kingdom and the Power,
and the Glory, for Ever and Ever.
Amen
