George (Behnan) Lossia passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on February 5, 2017 in Berkley, MI. Born Behnan Lossia on June 3, 1948 in Tel Keppe, Iraq, George immigrated with his family to the United States in 1950. Beloved son and brother, George was predeceased by his parents Jack and Naima and siblings Josephine, Florence, Hani and Rosemary and is survived by his brother John. George served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
George was the proud father of four daughters, Jennifer McManus (John), Jaclyn McQuaid (Dan), Jamie Brewer (Steve) and Jessica Miyamoto (Kevin) and nine grandchildren Jack, Josephine, Connor, Lucia, Henrik, Nicholas, Michael, Samantha and Sabrina. George was also the loving Godfather to 5 sons and a friend to all he met.
A happy, funny and intelligent man, George's personality was larger than life and endeared him to everyone he met. Although we all miss him dearly we know he is now at peace and likely already golfing the back nine.
Thank You and May God Bless You
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread ;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
for thine is the Kingdom and the Power,
and the Glory, for Ever and Ever.
Amen
