Having been born on the feast day of St. Joseph, Joseph Arabo Naman was named after the blessed saint. He was a devout Catholic throughout his life, became a seminarian and ultimately a deacon in the Chaldean Church. He had a love for learning, teaching and traveling. In addition to Chaldean, Arabic,and English, he learned many languages, such as French and German, through his various travels throughout the world. Joseph shared his vast knowledge of his Chaldean heritage, as well as world history, and was proud to teach many within the community to both read and write their native language. His passion for reading, learning and story telling led him to write a Chaldean comedic play which was later performed for the community.

Joseph was known as a scholar by friends and family alike. But, above all, he will be remembered for the great love and devotion he had for his family. Nothing brought him more joy than being with them, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed for his constant smile, wisdom and love for life and will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Thank you and may God bless you.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
for thine is the Kingdom and the Power,
and the Glory, for Ever and Ever.
Amen
