IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Justin Oliver
Nano (Tato)
December 8, 1971 – April 13, 2023
We regret to inform you of the passing of Justin Oliver Nano (Tato),
a beloved son, grandson, nephew and cousin.
Even though his time with us was too short,
Justin left a lasting impact on the people closest to him.
The only child of Francis and Mary Nano, Justin was a smart child with a passion for music and computers, a relatively new technology in the 1980s. He would eventually grow to master many instruments, including the piano, guitar and saxophone, and would often bring smiles to family and friends with his performances. Growing up, he had a natural sibling-like relationship with his cousins and would spend hours with them teaching them card games and introducing them to Apple computer programming and new music.
Valedictorian of his graduating high school class at Berkley High, Justin went on to the University of Michigan, where he earned degrees in science and English before continuing his advanced education in music.
Music remained a passion his entire life and Justin would perform to the delight of friends and family. He was a true talent with an instrument but also grew to become a force in the kitchen, often cooking complicated ethnic recipes with ease and feeding whoever stopped by for a visit. Most beautiful was his relationship with his parents, which was equal parts friendship and caregiving.
Justin thought and felt deeply about issues and often saw the complexities of the world
through his own lens. His talent and views will be missed.
Preceded in death by his mother, Mary,
Justin is survived by his father, Francis,
and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins.
Thank You and May God Bless You!
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
for thine is the Kingdom and the Power,
and the Glory, for Ever and Ever.
Amen.
