IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margrette
Hatano
January 5, 1931 – December 21, 2020
Margrette Hatano passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020. She was born in Baghdad, Iraq on January 5th, 1931 to Louis Kassab and Memmi Najor Kassab and was the youngest of 10 children with her eldest sister Hania and 8 older brothers, Peter, Babiah, Iskander, Tobi, Kamil, Salim, Razzouk, Edward who all preceded her in death. She moved to Michigan in the mid 1960's where she met and married Sliwa Hatano on February 2nd, 1969 who preceded her in death in 1981. Margrette cooked and baked for her family, and everyone loved her delicious dishes. She often shared all her pastries and baked goods with friends, relatives, and neighbors. Her most favorite thing of all was spending quality time with family/relatives and friends. It was the simple things that brought her the greatest joy – loving others in any way she could. Margrette is survived by her 3 children, Bryan, Elizabeth, Derek, her two granddaughters Najla and Leyla, her sister-in-law Meriamo Kassab, and her nieces and nephews. All these she loved and were a blessing to her life. Margrette was a living example of Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
