It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved
Mary Ann Garmo, who passed peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026, on the
Feast of All Saints.
Born on August 20, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Mary Ann was the devoted wife of the late
Sabah Francis Garmo and the loving mother of Julie Garmo, Mark (Rita) Garmo,
Susan Braun-Garmo (Hans Braun), Ronald (Vanessa Denha) Garmo, Zena (Noel) Sekavec,
and Jennifer (Chris) Armenti.
She was a cherished grandmother to Morgan Garmo, Rachael (Isaac) Abbo and Mark Garmo; Elizabeth (Kyle) Evans; Elayna Garmo; George, Declan and Alexandra Sekavec;
Alana Armenti and a proud great-grandmother to Forrest, Noah, and Adam.
Mary Ann was the third child of Stanley and Helen Dezenski and the sister of
the late Gerald (the late Donna) Dezenski, Donald (Janet) Dezenski, and
the late Joseph (the late Sandy) Dezenski. She will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching Hallmark movies and never missed an opportunity to send a greeting card for every holiday and birthday, making sure her children and grandchildren always knew they were loved. Her pinochle card club will certainly not be the same without her. She also took great pleasure in finding a great bargain at Lord & Taylor, always returning home with a smile and a story to share.
Her dedication to her community and faith was evident throughout her life. From serving as a lunch mother to leading Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities and teaching Catechism, Mary Ann touched countless lives at St. Michael's Catholic School in Southfield.
Above all, Mary Ann's deep and abiding faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. As she has now been called home, her family will forever cherish the memories she leaves behind, finding comfort and peace in the love she shared and the beautiful legacy she leaves with them.
