Obituary

With heavy hearts and extreme sorrow, our beloved Yuma, Mary Dawood Mezy, has passed peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on June 5, 1944 in Telkaif, Iraq and moved to the United States for a better life with her beloved husband and children. Yuma was the rock of the family, a faithful, strong-willed and independent woman. She spent every morning starting prayers at her church, attending mass, and caring for her family. A devoted mother, our Yuma has finally returned to reunite with her husband, her two sons, her brother, and her beloved parents.

Yuma Mary is predeceased by her husband, Faranci "Mashi", her sons, Basil and Aoni, her parents, Ama Dawood and Yuma Gurgia, and her brother, Joseph.

She is survived by her siblings, Samri Zeitouna, George Zebari, Louise Zebari, and Sahira Kawam; her children Bahira (Majid), Ramsey (Rita), Razia, Abed (Bushra), Rocky (Kim), Romi (Eva), Rita, and Nancy; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

May God grant her soul eternal rest in heaven.

Thank you and God Bless You!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours,
now and forever.

Amen
