It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Nassir “Mike” Babby, who entered eternal rest at the age of 74.
Nassir was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He was the heart of his family and brought joy, laughter, and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His greatest pride and accomplishment was the family he built and loved so deeply.
Nassir is survived by his beloved wife, Durrah Foumia Babby, and his loving children; Heather (Andy) Abro, Jennifer (Adees) Atamian, Christopher (Jessica) Babby, Candace (Vincent) Dawisha, and Julian Babby.
He was the proud and devoted grandfather of 14; Lyla, Andrew, Joseph, Anthony, Charlotte, Christopher Jr., Matthew, Logan, James, Ella, Caleb, Livy, Josie, and Leo - each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He was the brother of the Late Jameela (Manuel) Jabiru, Habeb (Margaret) Babbie, Elia (Jalila) Babby, Saleema (Hani) Odish, and the Late Musa (Bushra) Babby.
He was the brother-in-law of Peroz (The Late Hanna) Zaya, The Late Khalid (Souad) Foumia, Samira (The Late Rox) Haio, Dawlet (Amer) Karoumy, Adnan (Zuhoor) Foumia, Mona Foumia, and Khalida (Maad) Jarbo.
Nassir found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his teams. He loved watching wrestling, gathering with friends at the Nadi to play cards, enjoyed dinners together, and creating memories with those he loved. Known affectionately as “The King of BBQ,” Nassir could always be found at the grill, bringing family and friends together with his legendary cooking and generous spirit.
Above all, Nassir was a man of deep faith. His trust in God guided the way he lived his life—with humility, compassion, generosity, and love for others. His faith was a source of strength through life’s joys and challenges. He led by example, showing his family the importance of devotion, gratitude, and kindness.
Nassir’s kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, and unconditional love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his love will remain with us forever.
Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed.

Thank you and God bless!
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen
