We regret to inform you of the loss of the
Beloved Salim Yusuf Kas Shamoun.

Salim Yusuf Kas Shamoun of Commerce Twp, Michigan. Age 97.
Born in Telkaif, Iraq on February 1, 1924. Died in Commerce Twp, Michigan
on November 15, 2021 from natural causes.

Beloved Husband of Shammamta for 59 years upon her passing in 2009.
Loving father of Marsha(Chris) Venet, Ronald, Joanne(Kit) Wrasse, Robert,
Richard and Jonn(Faye). Cherished grandfather of Christopher(Juliana) Wrasse,
Renee(Drew) Billmeyer, Ronald(Marian), Robert Wrasse(Mark Elledge),
Michael(Carly), Matthew, Melissa, Taylor, Megan(James) Metcalf,
Justin and Anthony. Great-grandfather of Sophia and Dominic Wrasse,
Emma and Allie Billmeyer, and Alara Shamoun.

He was predeceased by his parents Yusuf and Mousha Kas Shamoun,
and his siblings Mikael, Nissan, George, Zarifa Atty and Rajjo Koza.

Salim immigrated to the US in 1949.
In the 1950s, 60's and 70's, he and his wife Shammamta were instrumental
in bringing many families to the USA from Iraq and worked
to help others in the Chaldean community in Detroit and San Diego.

He had a heart of gold, loved to garden, play (beat us at) Konkan, dance at weddings,
tell us stories about Iraq, and enjoyed vacationing each winter in San Diego until he was 96.
Salim showered his love on to his devoted family, faithful relatives and dear friends,
he will be missed by all who knew him. His love, laughter and smile will remain in our hearts, now that he is in the good hands of the Lord.
