It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the beloved Youhana Zia Sokana, at the age of 93.
Son of the late Zia Hanna Sokana and Katrina Jumia Sokana
Youhana is survived by his wife, Evlin Sliwa Jarbo Sokana
Loving father of Mike (Thamira)Sokana, Mark (Heather) Sokana, Ghayda (Mike Nair) Bahoora, Robert Sokana,
Beloved brother of The late Toma Sokana, The late Sabah Sokana, The late Najib Sokana, Masood Sokana, Salim Sokana, Frank Sokana, Najiba Sokana, Dura Shatheya, Sabeha Sokana
He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren who will forever carry his wisdom, kindness, and legacy in their hearts.
Born on January 1, 1932 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Throughout his remarkable life, Youhana was a guiding light for his family. His gentle spirit, integrity, and deep faith were evident in every aspect of his life. He will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and unwavering love for those around him.
We would like to thank Heather for the love and care she gave to Baba during the last few months of his life.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
